Transcending Fear and Anxiety Around Career Transitions and Making Bold Moves to Take You Forward

Except a small percentage of people who are totally happy in their careers, a large majority of people, are unhappy with their careers in one way or the other (nearly 75% based on a recent Forbes magazine article). From my personal experiences, I know that it is easier to talk about career transitions than to actually move forward, even when people know what to do.

For many people, taking actual steps to change careers and make bold moves is a dreadful and anxious undertaking, riddled with financial, identity, family, and personal issues. While the "heart" wants to go about finding an exciting new career, the "inner critic" in our mind wants to maintain the status quo, unwilling to embark on an uncertain journey, without a "proof" of sure success. The outcome is that many people remain frozen, unwilling to move forward, unwilling to seize initiative to find the career or vocation they really want.

In this presentation, life coach, Dr. Vinod Jain, who is on his fifth career in his 35+plus year career in technology and management consulting and coaching area, will share some concrete strategies for overcoming the fear, anxiety, and inertial around career changes. The focus of this session is not on "what to do" or how to find a new job or new career, but on actually jumping in and making the "jump," while maintaining mental peace and sanity. Specifically, Dr. Jain will specifically discuss:

  1. How to remain calm and relaxed no matter what?
  2. How to generate flow, energy, and momentum with some small intentional and low risk steps to check the landing ground before making the full jump?
  3. How to look confident, poised, and energetic to engage others in exploratory conversations that open the doors to new horizons?
  4. How to jump in and take some bold steps, without jeopardizing your current position?
  5. How to develop the right mindset about thinking about career changes and about making the dreams come true?
