Monday Morning Speaker: Steve Ely
Permanent Employment Is Toast
Speaker Website: www.PermanentEmploymentIsToast.comExecutive Interim Management is a thriving industry in the EU, UK, and APAC. In the U.S., top executive talent is becoming increasingly dear as supply contracts.
Simultaneously, employment tenures for executives have shortened, and executive hiring and job hunting cycles have lengthened. A recent study put average CFO tenure at 28 months.
Are we moving towards a U.S. employment market in which all operating executives are de facto interims? If so, what opportunities does this trend imply?
The discussion will include an overview of the U.S. market for executive interim management, examine the industry’s future prospects, and explore the factors underpinning success in serving as an interim.
Topics to be covered include:
What is an interim executive?
Where do interims fit in the overall U.S. executive labor market?
Why do companies hire interims?
Interim Executive v. Permanent Hire – The case to employers.
Employers’ resistance to interims – fact or fiction?
Critical Success Factors in client engagement
Consulting v. Interim Management – what’s the difference?
Interim opportunities in small caps and family-owned businesses
What it takes – Working as an Executive Interim
