Conducting a Job Search from the Inside Out:  How Designing Your Future Can Help Your Job Search Today

Conversation with
RONDA ANSTED

The typical job search generally looks like this: 1) Something bad happens and you need a new job; 2) Apply for anything that you are remotely qualified for and (sometimes) tell people in your social circle that you're looking; 3) Wait (often filled with anxiety and a big hit to self-esteem); 4) Find something new, take it, and let the cycle to start again. Often, the job search isn't connected to our future plans so much as needing a paycheck. And because of this, most end up in the 70% of people who are disengaged at work.

In this one-hour workshop, you'll learn how to turn this process on its head. Through interactive exercises, you'll learn how your personality, interests, goals, and dreams can help you design your future to ensure that your next job is taking you in the right direction. These aspects of yourself can also help you to use job search strategies that are motivating and keep you engaged. You'll also receive access to My Career Design Studio, an online career coaching app that can guide you through the entire process, from figuring out what you want to do to preparing for your interview.
