Beyond Handling Stress:  Building Personal Resilience

An Informative and Interactive Session, led by Barbara Beizer of The Transition Network is for Active Job Seekers only.

You may think you know all about stress … so why is it so hard to stay calm?

You may believe you are resilient … so why is it so hard to stay strong?

Our brain tells us we learn better when we learn together.  Our heart tells us we are emotionally healthier when we connect with others in meaningful ways.

You could stay home and read about stress and resilience. But, you’d be missing one of the most important and simplest things you can do to take better care of yourself - making meaningful connections with others.

Take charge of your own well-being.  Join us for this highly interactive, practical session. You will leave with your own personal tool-box  for becoming a calmer, stronger person

Stress is a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life.  Adverse circumstances, and cumulative or chronic stress can be very hard to manage.  Resilience represents a process of adapting well in the face of adversity.  What causes or re-duces stress, or what makes you more or less resilient may be different for you than for someone else, and will likely vary depending on the circumstances.

We’ll look at the latest research on stress and resilience and what this means in terms of tactical responses for you to better manage stress, and build your resilience capacity.   Together, we’ll work with some positive stress-reducing and resilience-building tools.

You will select the combination of healthy actions you want to put into practice in your life right now to cope with stress and recover better and faster from adversity in the future.  With new awareness, focused intention, and your personal toolkit, you will naturally become better at taking care of yourself in general.
