BIO
Laura E. Jordan, a Washington, D.C.-based attorney with a law degree
from Georgetown University, has represented some of the world's largest
and best-known corporations. She was formerly with the Washington, D.C.
office of the New York firm Reboul, MacMurray, Hewitt, Maynard &
Kristol, where she represented Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Chrysler
Corporation, Sears, Roebuck & Co., and Louis Vuitton, among others.
Ms. Jordan also has significant business experience at Procter &
Gamble, Dow Chemical, and Monsanto Chemical. Additionally, Ms. Jordan
served on the personal staff of a United States Congressman as a
legislative analyst.
Ms. Jordan left Reboul, MacMurray in 1996 to join Jordan, McNeil &
Ricks, P.C. as a name partner, and subsequently established The Law
Offices of Laura E. Jordan, P.C. Ms. Jordan is a member of the bars of
the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, several federal courts
of appeal, several federal trial courts, and is lead counsel certified
in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Ms. Jordan's practice includes corporate counseling; civil litigation;
arts, entertainment and sports law; and parents' rights. A significant
portion of her clients are international entities.
CORPORATE COUNSELING
The Firm's corporate counseling practice focuses on problem-solving,
risk management, and control. Ms. Jordan offers solutions for issues in
venture creation, formation, and financing; corporate governance,
control, and continuity; and challenges encountered in growing the
business. Representative clients include Computer Literacy World, Inc.,
an information solutions company providing computer hardware and
software solutions to government and private sector clients; Wisconsin
Avenue Collection, a purveyor of distinctive estate collections of art,
antiques, and jewelry to the public and to the designing trade; and
From Zero, Inc., an international business consulting firm with offices
in the United States and Japan identifying opportunities and providing
project solutions to the public and private sectors.
ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT, AND SPORTS LAW
Ms. Jordan's arts, entertainment and sports law practice involves
preparation and negotiation of recording and distribution deals and
other contracts; protecting clients' rights in their work; negotiating
and securing merchandising and related promotional deals; and
protecting clients' work from unauthorized use, including copyright
infringement and trademark counterfeiting actions.
Ms. Jordan's clients include independent film and television production
companies, record labels, production and sound companies, casting
agencies, talent management firms, international professional sports
concerns, the first African-American female drag racer, recording
artists, screenwriters, authors, and poets. Ms. Jordan also represents,
pro bono, Miss Precious Thomas, a nationally-known youth inspirational
speaker living with AIDS. Representative clients include Redskins
Magazine, Inc.; Shooters Sports, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and
distributor of urban sports apparel; and Genius, Inc., an international
think tank focusing on innovative solutions to complex business
problems, with clientele in the United States, Japan, Europe, and
Africa.

relations academically, economically, and athletically.

preserving the legacy of "The World's Fastest Human, Bullet" Bob
Hayes, the only person ever to win an Olympic gold medal and an NFL
Super Bowl Championship.

partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, lecturing on
legal issues relating to venture formation, organization, and

Ms. Jordan is closely involved in the home-school associations of
several area schools. She is an active member of the Washington, D.C.
chapter of the national Black Women in Sport Foundation. She has also
been inducted as a full voting member of The Pigskin Club, whose motto
is "Democracy in Sports."
Ms. Jordan resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their five children.
